I just picked up this machine guy said he used it a yr ago on 575 volts he now has converted it to 230 volt but never tested it.I bought it pluged it in you can hear a little huuummmm I then turn the switch on and the fan comes on with my arc welding cables on the machine does nothing.I noticed the contactor isn't getting engauged so I wedged it in with a piece of wood at full amperage it stick welds very week like 40-50 amps it feels like.So my first problem is why isn't the contactor kicking in? And second why is there not full amperage can anyone help me out please
Reply:The fan and contacter maybe on 240 volt but the welder/transformer is on 575 volt If you have a schematic on welder I can help youDave

Reply:We have confimed the machine is setup for 230 volts properly the contactor wont pull in but if I wedge it in and the tig pedal is unplugged from the machine I can stick weld with the machine at full amperage it feels like im only getting 40-50 amps if any of the 4 diodes in the back near the fan are gone what would the symptoms be?
Reply:As per our P/MThis is what I have and you are welcome to it.The wires are cut long enough to still figure out where they go...
