Ive always been a flip down old school guy but wanted to try a new auto darkener. I bought a Jackson Nexgen W60 unit. Most of my welding is indoors and my hood does not see daylight often. Do you guys keep a stock of batteries for indoor use or what? How often do you change batteries? 2450 cells aint cheap. Im almost ready to just keep using my old school and just give the ole neck flip.... im not a daily welder and sometimes my hood sits for a bit...Millermatic 185Lincoln Ranger 305GVictor O/A

Reply:I've been using NexGens since either 2003 or 2004. They last well and don't fly through batteries at all. I change batteries 2 or 3 times a year, and the autodarkening filter lasts 6 or 7 years on average for me....I have 2 shields set up with these filters.
