WKM 650GTR 2x72 belt grinder

Hi all, just sharing my new tool acquisition. Been researching for a good 2x72 grinder for a while. My criteria was fast metal removal and variable speed. Everything I looked at seemed a bit too expensive for the value in the US. I looked at ameribrade, pheer, kmg etc. Then suddenly came across http://www.wkmtool.com/ -- and ordered it. It is from Malaysia. I have received 3 boxes so far -- they ship in 4 boxes due to 20kg UPS weight limit. This thing is 80kg including all accessories like platen, 10" wheel, mini wheels. My purchase cost included $350 shipping and despite that it seems to be a winner in this niche. Check out their video of balancing a coin while it runs -- just unbelievable. It also have tilting feature built-in. I got a latest VFD, a Teco E510 IP66 Nema4, with frequency control knob.I just opened the box for the motor -- a Siemens 220v-3phase and looks very high quality.The communication with the owner (Mr Wong) has been nothing short of excellent. He made the whole purchase experience very satisfactory with regular updates on the machine build and shipping status.Can't wait to get the chassis tomorrow and set it up.Last edited by therider; 11-03-2020 at 08:26 PM.

Oh boy! I cannot get a propper VDF + wheels turned for that price arround here... Looks like a killer deal to be honest!Even if they don't send me the motor (I have a 3hp 3p arround I could use) itKeep us updated when you receive all the pieces and let us know how it runs. It looks well built with some really nice features, but I can't find a price for any model on the website. Reply:Just did the first test. The quality is just incredible. I think this one can't be beat for the value. Whisper quiet at full speed when it is doing 7300fpm. Extremely satisfied with this purchase and I think it is one the best tools I ever got.

Reply:Could not believe how fast the edge was eaten up at near full speed. And I haven't yet opened the small wheel setup!!!I honestly think none of the US built machines comes close to the value this offers especially the 7300fpm max belt speed. Burr king gives 8k but is totally for a different environment. Ameribrade does max 6600fpm. All others have lower max.

Reply:That's really nice... my Jancy 3x79 belt grinder is rough as all get-out, balance a coin on it? It would vibrate off the platen in about 2 seconds flat!
Reply:Made this one today, the wkm grinder made the accuracy grinding a breeze. Can't imagine what took me so long to get this tool.
