The new 2016 Digitally controlled PowerMTS 211Si, is a replacement of the older PowerMTS 200.  This MIG/TIG/Stick unit has several noteworthy features over the previous model.  This new multi-process welder now has a synergic MIG feature which reduces setup time and allows one knob adjustment over both wire speed and voltage...while still allowing for manual corrections in voltage if it is needed.  Yes, it still has arc force/inductance settings for MIG and stick. This unit also offers advanced controls for stick welding, offering Hot start time and Hot start intensity adjustments.  This unit offers 35% duty cyle at 200 amps for MIG and TIG welding.  It offers up to 170 amps of stick welding capability, large enough for a 1/8" electrode.  It also features a proven, heavy cast aluminum wire feed mechanism.  No plastic to worry about warping or detensioning over time.  And it will even operate on 120 if standard single phase 240V power is not available. The unit will accommodate up to an 8" spool (10-12 lbs) of wire which keeps the unit compact, but usuable in a commercial application. But as an industry first, when compared to the Miller Multimatic 200, Lincoln MP 210,  Thermal Arc/ Tweco Fabricator series units and even the new ESAB Rebel, the new Power MTS features High Frequency start option in TIG mode.   In fact it offers both a lift start and HF start option while operating in TIG.  No competitor currently has it in a compact, 3 in 1 DC welder unit.   This is significant as it offers the operator the ability to start TIG without having to make contact with the work surface.  Of course if you are comparing features and prices...don't forget, to weld TIG, you don't need a special kit or expensive add on options as we offer it ready to go, with even a foot pedal...no conversion needed to TIG.  But for those of you that want to minimize your purchase price, we can offer it without the TIG accessories.  You don't need to worry, though as you can purchase the TIG kit (with a foot pedal!) at a reasonable price later and it will be ready to TIG whenever you choose.  You'll just need Argon and Tungsten to TIG.Oh, don't forget: This unit has no hidden menus to deal with.  The operator interface is simple and intuitive.

Reply:KMA, If nothing worked, then it had to be an electrical supply problem on his end or the main power switch.  But with the lack of detail in the statement, it doesn't sound right, I agree.  It is rare that we have a DOA these days.Esab Migmaster 250Lincoln SA 200Lincoln Ranger 8Smith Oxy Fuel setupEverlast PowerPlasma 80Everlast Power iMIG 160Everlast Power iMIG 205 Everlast Power iMIG 140EEverlast PowerARC 300Everlast PowerARC 140STEverlast PowerTIG 255EXT
Reply:I could be wrong, but based on his post I'd assume it wasn't the machine...Everlast PowerMTS 211Si
Reply:I would love to hear what users have had to say about this machine since it has been out for a while. This is the going favorite for my choice of a multi process machine.
Reply:I got one of the earliest units, and it has worked very well for the most part. It is capable and powerful, with lots of nice features. I did have an issue where it wouldn't weld at cooler temperatures. Everlast sent me a new board which helped a lot, but didn't completely alleviate the problem. Luckily my shop is heated so it's not a show stopper.I found the synergic settings were off quite a bit, but I've heard that's been updated in newer models. I try not to use that mode anyway...Overall I'm pretty satisfied. I chose a multipurpose machine to play around with each process, and it has allowed me to do that. Plus it works great when I have to actually weld things. I bought it at a pretty good price, but if there isn't much $ difference with its bigger brother the 251Si, I might go with that one.If you are in no rush, there is a newer Everlast model coming out later this year that includes AC tig, making it a truly multipurpose machine.Good luck.Everlast PowerMTS 211Si
Reply:The only thing that I can add is temp. When I injured my eye I didn't weld for over a week and didn't turn the heat up in the shop which was during a cold spell. The machine (275P) was on the floor so it was below freezing. Freaked me out that it would turn on but not do anything else, like weld. It wasn't until the ambient got warm enough (whatever that point is) that it would work. That is the only thing about the machine that is a negative to this point and could certainly be an issue for some. I suppose one shouldn't be surprised with the degree of computerization in modern machines. But it means that it's not a service machine, run of a gen, in the cold.

Reply:In mig mode, how does the up slope/down slope work and can it be used continuously as a manual pulse to control heat?
Reply:No it can't be used as a pulse.  It does slope voltage.Esab Migmaster 250Lincoln SA 200Lincoln Ranger 8Smith Oxy Fuel setupEverlast PowerPlasma 80Everlast Power iMIG 160Everlast Power iMIG 205 Everlast Power iMIG 140EEverlast PowerARC 300Everlast PowerARC 140STEverlast PowerTIG 255EXT
Reply:Any update on cold weather performance?  I'm looking at one of these models but if it doesn't perform well in cold weather (reasonably 0-20 degrees F, even better if it works under 0 to negative 20 F), it won't work well for me at least half of the year.
Reply:I have had one for about 8 or 9 months. I love it.  I'm a novice user but it has served me well.  I am really interested in finding a table or graph that helps me get started when changing metal thickness and stuff.  I am clueless.
Reply:needed some new shinny nozzles for the mig gun...got 4 from everlast in 3 days.Charl
Reply:what is the price for this without the TIG accessories?
Reply:All our units include accessories.   The PowerMTS 211Si includes a quality torch and foot pedal.  Not much better available.Esab Migmaster 250Lincoln SA 200Lincoln Ranger 8Smith Oxy Fuel setupEverlast PowerPlasma 80Everlast Power iMIG 160Everlast Power iMIG 205 Everlast Power iMIG 140EEverlast PowerARC 300Everlast PowerARC 140STEverlast PowerTIG 255EXT
