I have a Bobcat 225 with Kohler engine I bought in 2005. I dont do too much field work, but its been an awesome machine. It has 260 hours on her now. I was thinking I might like the newer version with the EFI . Are the newer machines as well built or better built than this older unit ? Trying to decide wether to upgrade now or not. Thanks.
Reply:I just bought a new bobcat friday and i was happy because I got a new last years model. The guy at the LWS said the new ones have remote start from a key fob. T each his own but in a field work setting i see the key fob lasting about as long as a fart in a whirlwind.Just my opinion but simple is better. The guy i deal with was not impressed with the new ones because of the added electronics.
Reply:run yours until it dies, then think about a new welder.
Reply:We have Bobcats with over 1500 hours. Run yours until it wont then look into something else. Unless you need more amps than it produces, but then you could just run a welder off the Kva plug with Miller's adapter.
Reply:For the 16 hours you use it every yearI wouldn’t bother doing anything aside from service for the next 45 years, then consider swapping it out. |
