I want to see how you guys roll. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Reply:I called Strap-On. They wanted 8 grand for equal real estate so I grabbed some  1x2 , made a frame and went out to the woodshed for a lil Nectandra megapotamica ;-) I did have to buy the 100 lb sliders

SnapOn(s) in above pics.

Best for the money: the International side cabinet from Princess Auto. (Photo above).   Surprisingly good quality. My fave:  My first Craftsman roll cab I bought when I was 18.   Sold it to my best friend ages ago and still going strong after 48 years.

Then added 500 lb electric hoist from harbor freight and put a hook point for double line lifting on the original inner tube so that it couldn't be used with the new roller end tube extended. The top is 1/4" thick with 2" 14 ga square tubes under it, the spot where the hoist mounts there is extra tubing criss crossing it as well as 1/2" thick plate padding to make sure none of the bolts would have an easy time ripping through just 1/4"The outriggers are just tube inside of tube, and I painted one end red and then painted yellow up to a point where there was still enough left inside to be strong. Good visual indicator of when they are at full extension and was easier than figuring out some mechanical limit device.Last edited by Pugs_; 05-02-2017 at 01:06 PM.
Reply:I'm diggin' that mini crane Pugz. Brilliant !
Reply:I have to laugh that most here like it and I had posted it on a garage forum  back when I originally made it and the safety nazi's came out of the wood work telling me how I was going to kill myself with it, even though I fully tested it throughout its full range with and with out the outriggers down and kinda know what I'm doing. Glad I'm not on that forum anymore...
Reply:Hand tools go in the rollaway. Electric tools, and supplies go in the cabinets.

I got the solid rounds from scrap yard and needed some way to easily pick them up and set into box frame (on its side) so I made the little pucks with 1/2-13 holes in them. Once they were on I thought it kinda looked like a battery and figured if I dressed them up a little it would look nicer than just painting them solid color same as the frame. And they are not AA, I marked them 500LB

I wound up removing one of them awhile ago and its still plenty stable, but moves around alot easier. They are 500 lbs each and the hoist at max reach just reaches over top of where they are and is rated to 500 lbs at the radius. With both weights in I could pick 500 lbs up at the side without the outriggers down, now with one weight the outrigger needs to be down.Painting the weights and the box frame in background, upside down.

Back side of box with hooks for rigging stuff and electric reel (reversed the plugs so I could pull it out and plug into wall.

Not nearly as impressive as my work box, or others on here. Here's the last of my boxes, in my man cave. No welder at home. I just use my welder at work if need to. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Reply:I wish they were all blue. I like to be color coordinated, seems my welder choices are all different colors so had to give up on that idea.

It ... looks ... "old here", or something.
