Hello, I am new at the forum and I am in need of a good Welding Consultant, I need to develop a PQR and qualify a few welders to weld Stainless Steel plate on the 3G position, I have not been able to get them to pass, or even get the procedure qualified.Hopefully the welders consultant is in the north Texas, or Oklahoma area as I am in Wichita Falls, Texas. Not very familiar with this issues, so I do not know which other information would be needed at this time.ThanksRafael Barreto
Reply:well Raf, maybe describe best you can in detail what they cant pass, or qualify, or what your wanting to do. Then maybe tonight, some other stainless guys might come on here and get you going in the right direction
Reply:What welding process are you using? Why can't you get the procedure or welders qualified? This isn't PED is it, seems a lot have been having problems with the new acceptance criteria with those tests.. Let us know whats going on and we'll see if we can help.Lincoln Idealarc Tig 300/300, Lincoln ranger 8, Lincoln LN-25, Miller Sidekick (keeps rockin!), Oxy/Acy torch, Miller XMT-304 with a Miller 60 series wire feeder and high freq. box, Profax positioner 8" chuck, Aaronson 3500# positioner 15" chuck
Reply:Thanks for your response, We have been trying to qualify a 3G downhill on .25 304 stainless steel. The gas is 90/7.5/2.5 He/Ar/CO2 and the wire is .35 hardwire in short arc transfer. We have been having a problem with lack of penetration and improper fusion. I am attaching the PQR.Again, thanks for any help I can getPQR and WPS .pdf
Reply:Any reason you can't change to uphill?Weld like a "WELDOR", not a wel-"DERR"
