This just in from the Fox News Channel. They just had a news alert. There was just an explosion and fire at the Florida Air Gas South facility in Miami. The clip showed several deliverly trucks burning, the loading dock burning, and a lot of black smoke. But luckly no reports of injuries
Reply:only thing i can think of that would have black smoke would be the trucks diesel.. i remember about 5 years ago, a paint warehouse in town caught on fire, and the news reported that airlines over atlanta could see the smoke, over 150 miles away!!StangnetShop Full Of Stuff. Joey
Reply:Tires, burn very black. Diesel has a white / blue smoke.
Reply:Looks like a tank fell while being loaded. Info is vague and somewhat contradictory. One comment mentions a puncture, but that seems hard for me to imagine.http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald...al/8213939.htmThis report says "A forklift being used to stack the tanks accidentally hit a valve, sparking a fire and chain reaction"http://www.nbc6.net/news/2928446/detail.htmlThis would imply that the cap wasn't present, I presume?
Reply:The company is not saying anything internally yet. This is the third incident in the last year or so involving flammables at one of their facilities. Some changes have been made as far as propane filling but that is all.
Reply:I'm glad I go to Abco
Reply:Anyone know what the status is of the Air Gas aquisiton of BOC? (it was mantioned as tentative in the last AWS rag)
Reply:All I am hearing is that it's happening and FTC needs to give their approval and blessings.Rumor is that some time toward the end of summer everything should be done, however this rumor has been around since last year. |
