Reply:Look at the face of the lense. They are typical photo sensors like you might see for outdoor lights. Smaller but same appearance. You'll see them at the sides-top-etc..
Reply:my lens at work has two and the two welding hoods at home have one. I have found the hood at work is slow to react if it has been in the dark for a while. The unit has not battery's on photo cells. I got tired of getting my eyes burnt from the few seconds of the poor response. I now just place a light in front of the lens charge the photo cell. This may be BS but I am not going for the burnt eyes anymore from the Poor response time when first used. JimK
