Is there any device commonly, inexpensively, avaliable that would allow a weldor to make his/her own mixes of gasses? I am tired of having a dedicated bottle for each gas or gas mix that I use. I would like to have a bottle of argon and co2 and make my own mix based on maybe a meter or valve and manifold. You know, if you need 100 percent argon, turn off the co2, or if you need 75/25 or some other mix, you just turn the valve on a meter, run the gas a bit and go to it.signedyour friendlyCheap a$$ ba$tard.Smithboy...if it ain't broke, you ain't tryin'.
Reply:I've seen posts by folks that have either done it DIY, played with it DIY or bought a mixer. As I recall the commercial mixers are $$$. Try a search on this or the Hobart board and you should find 'em.TinkerCentury 135GS, ThermalArc 250GTS
Reply:Hey,Thanks tinker. A quick search indicates this is not in the cards for me. Too many $$$ to justify it for what I do. I will probably investigate the DIY things before I give up the idea, however.Smithboy...if it ain't broke, you ain't tryin'. |
