In a mig application, which do you prefer...regulator with gauges or flowmeterand why. Thanks in advance, JRF
Reply:In a MIG application you're going to need both a regulator and a flowmeter. There are two different kinds that one might see. One type looks very much like a regulator with two standard gauges. It has a fixed orifice that has a certain flow at a correlating pressure. Flow is varied by adjusting the pressure of the regulator. With a proper flow meter, the regulator is usually fixed at a certain pressure for which the meter is calibrated. Flow is then adjusted by means of a needle valve. The latter type with the floating ball meter is more accurate than the former type.-Heath |
