I have a 115 @ 50 amps Arc welder that someone gave me. I want to tack weld some of the motorcycle frame parts so I can make sure that they will work. I will have the whole frame TIG welded when I'm finished. Can I use this welder for that and if so what type of welding rods do I need?Thanks
Reply:Well 230volt welders go as low as 30-40 amps. Guess 50 amps puts you in a pretty narrow band of work that can be done. Get some 3/32nds 6011 if it's an AC welder, 6010 if it's can do DC.
