...if the MM DVI is a worthwhile compromise between the 175 and 210. As an auto hobbiest, I can't see the need for an industrial rated (by Miller) machine. Plenty of guys are using the 175/ 180 machines, but I like the idea of the flexibility of the DVI due to the 115v or 230v capability. What do you think...
Reply:It wasnt that long ago that the DVI was a rarity among folks here. I actually thought that they were a niche market machine that would not last as a product line...but, it looks like there is more appeal to the machine than I thought. There are several folks here that now have one. You might want to start a new thread in the Miller forum and put something like "Is the DVI a good machine" in the subject so it will attract the right folks to the thread.Smithboy...if it ain't broke, you ain't tryin'.
Reply:I'd think that if you had 220V available you should just go for the 210. I see people going for the DVI if they don't have 220V now but plan to build a shop or want the versatility to have 110V if they take the welder out someplace.
Reply:I would suggest a millermatic passport. It would give you more power than the DVI and alot more portable at 45lbs.Also it is dual voltage 115volt or 230volt.Better for go anywhere welding and the same price as the DVI. |
