Does anybody know if these things are any good.There is a guy on ebay selling these and they are half the cost of a miller or lincoln and they have a higher rated duty cycle.He didn't mention any kind of warranty tho.
Reply:it's a 1 year warranty, but who knows how the process works. I have seen these also. They are available in bulk through a chinese company, and some folks have bought a few and are trying to make a go of them. There are several folks that have bought these units (some dc, some dc+plasma, some ac/dc), but none that I have seen have hit the 1-year mark yet. You might contact some of the ebay members that have bought and find out their impressions so far. My guess is that they are not professional welders, so keep that in mind. There is a guy in the UK that has been selling longer than the guy here in CA. There is currently very little info on the ACTUAL performance and reliability. There isnt any reason these should be bad welders. China supplies a lot of electronics for a lot of different products. Most of the big name computer makers computers are almost entirely made in china.Some of the foreign pages I have seen list these units at industrial quality, but who knows...really.Smithboy...if it ain't broke, you ain't tryin'.
