I have one of the Harbor Freight auto darkening helmets, and until a few days ago, it worked like a champ. Now, it's staying darkened, even after the arc is gone. I've cleaned the plastic lens and blown compressed air into the openings for the photocell. This makes it work perfectly for about 5 minutes, but then the problem comes back. It seems like the auto dark lens itself is working, but the problem lies in the light sensor. Any suggestions for what I should try next?
Reply:Take it back. I've heard HF is good about honoring warranties. Though the helmet is not top quality, the helmet does work. I have had one for about 3 years. Though now it is a backup helmet, I have nad no problems. |
