OK I just ordered the 175plus, I got the aluminum kit for some small projects I want to do. I have some auto body work to do also(sheet metal)Should I get the innershield kit for the flux core wire, if so what size.I'm also wondering about shielding gas, what size bottles to get, and so on.The pure argon for the aluminum right? Do I need a different gauges or can I just switch from one bottle to the next?Is it better to buy the bottles or lease them?Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated!I just want to make sure I have every thing I need to get going so I'm not like a kid on christmas with no batteries!
Reply:most of what you ask depends on how much you plan to weld argon for alum yup thats right.the inershild kit is just a cover that replaces the nozelthe bottles i can rent them for $5.00 a mounth+ fill ,but i still bought mine because i go to long in between fills and in the long run it save me moneyan 80cf is the smallest bottle with a cap and if i rember right it should give you 3-4 hours triger time right now i have 1 80cf of argon 1 40cf of 95/5 and 1 20cfof helium wen i use up the 95/5 im going to change it to a 80cf even if you owne the bottles you can up grade just pay the dif and your good to gohope some of this helps happy weldingChuckASME Pressure Vessel welder
Reply:If you can afford it, buying your bottle is the best way to go. What you would pay in rental or leases could pay for your bottles pretty quick.I would not get anything smaller than an 80cf bottle.
Reply:I ended up with 2 80cf, 1 for pure argon and 1 for C25. It was $65 a year to rent a bottle here and I got my bottles for $280 so buying is definitely the way to go.Thanks"Lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on mine"However "lack of planning on my part may constitute an emergency on yours" |
