Hi all, I have a Lincoln 3200HD which is MIG/flux-cored and have a quick q. I want to patch/fix a leaking car A/C which is made from aluminum. Which wire can I use for this job if I will not be using it in MIG mode (don't have gas). thanks!
Reply:I don't believe there is such a thing as a flux cored aluminum wire.  Maybe, you should braze it using an aluminum brazing alloy and propane torch.
Reply:You will have trouble with any alu under 1/8 with MIG. Under 1/8 is TIG territory usually. Alu for MIG is solid wire requiring straight Argon.
Reply:I can't think of a single part on an car ac system that I would want to touch with a wire feeder of any type to repair a leak.Smithboy...if it ain't broke, you ain't tryin'.
Reply:Epoxy on a properly prepaired surface would certainly do the trick.
Reply:thanks for the replies guys   .. I'll probably try some sort of epoxy/sealant.
Reply:Aluminum solder works great!Messer MG Eutectic makes a good solder!
