Reply:I have no idea how old it is.    Century is now owned by Lincoln and they have discontinued the welder business as far as I can see.    Serach the interent because I do believe that somebody picked up the spares and repair parts business for these welders. As for what it is worth that is up to you.    If the unit currently works and is in good condition then I'd only be willing to pay 20 or 30 dollars for it.     Yeah that may sound cheap to some but if you have to jump through hoops in the future to keep it running then I think the discount is about right.    That doesn't take into account how well the  welder works. To get a better idea of worth you need to know the operating voltage (input) and line current rating.   Ideally the unit will have minimal wear also.Maybe others will disagree with me, but it is not like you are buying well supported equipment.     Some of the old stuff can be very good if the manufacture continues to support the hardware or an industry has grown up around the hardware, but this does not appear to be the case with Century.     Bargains shoould always be considered just as long as you have an open mind.     My mind wouldn't be open to much more than the 30 dollars mentioned earlier.Dave
Reply:well after sending the pic to a weld shop they got back to me it's a 120v and it's about 5-8 years old. They blew up the pic and on the bottom right i think he said was a 120v marking.
Reply:I'd think it would be worth a bit more...around $100 give or take $50 depending on condition, but I would draw the line there myself.  And, that would be for a local buy you can test out...and no shipping.  You don't want to tie up much more than that, because you can buy new a 135 amp machine for around $450.  Remember, if you have to ship, that gets added into the price, and these little migs are not as light as you might expect.  Many companies sell gun parts and consumables for century welders...so, that really isn't a big problem (see weldingdepot.com).  As for drive rollers, however, I am not sure.  If there are any circuit boards, that might be completely out of the question.Just another opinion...take if for what it's worth...Smithboy...if it ain't broke, you ain't tryin'.
Reply:I see what you saying it comes with flow meter and a extra and a 20 bottle not much but 75.00 total but like you said i'll have to find out what shipping will be and if it's over 100.00 buck for get it but ups gets funny when it coms to bottles empty i just might say forget there saying primary volt is 230 so that does it there don't have a 220 in my garage. But they might be wrong have to wait till they send the pics i ask for.Last edited by chevelle; 04-25-2006 at 11:41 AM.
Reply:onething if i can get this real cheap and if it is 230v is there a way to convert it to 115v
Reply:The Voltage should be easy to fiure out . Look at the electric plug on the end of the cord. if it won't plug in to 110-120 volt outlet, it must be 220 volts . and , if it is 220-240 volt , then it's probably not wired heavy enough to weld with 110 volt.
Reply:i know about the plugs but the seller wasn't sure and i think it's a 220 so i don't have 220 on my garage so i'll move on i see a hobart 125 just keep my self open till next week then i pick on
