I may have found a used Snap On YA212 mig welder for $600specs:Stock #   YA212AINDName Welder, MIG, Wire Feed, 120/240VPrice** $3,068.35    Brand Snap-onInput Voltage 208/240VInput Current 26/24AOutput Current 185ADuty Cycle 100% @ 185a, 60% @ 230ARegulator Included Flowmeter-RegulatorThickness Range 5/16"Wire Size Range .023"-.04I know snap-on is ridiculously overpriced, but would this be worth a look-see for $600???Thanks GuysIf it ain't broke.. don't fix it!!!... but you can always 'hop it up'
Reply:If it works well, that's a very good duty cycle and amerage for that price range.  But chances are, it's old and ugly for that price.  They are so ridiculously overpriced (as you know) when new, that most users won't want to give up all that investment in the resale unless they really trashed it.
Reply:Good question!    It is only a good deal if you can keep it running with spares from a welding supply shop.    If you have to buy parts form Snap On then forget it.I don't know what the situation is as I've never even seen a Snap On welder.    There are a few things form Snap On that I'd be willing to pay for.     A brand new welder is not one of them.ThanksDave
Reply:Sounds like a good deal to me (but then again, I have a buttload of Snap-on tools!).  If it welds ok, go for it.
