Is it possible to do sheet metal work with the hobart 135 mig welder? I also have access to a stick welder but I am not sure which one would better suit my need. I had purchased the hobart for the purpose of doing metal work on my pick up bed. All I can get out of it is burn through or a lot of spatter. Any help would be appreciated?
Reply:It will work.
Reply:It's an excellent machine for that. Are you using solid wire and a shielding gas or trying to get by with flux-cored?The best sheet metal work with that machine will be with .023" solid wire and a C-25 gas (though CO2 is the next best choice...)
Reply:i'm using .030 flux cored wire. i just hope that i can do the metal work with it
