Ok guys after stating my case for the 2'nd  time i finally got my boss to "get with the program" and see what we can do about setting up the tig machine..Miller SR-300-32nowam i missing something here??it has NO a.c. setting but it has a hi freq.switch???W.T.Fi wanna do aluminum again   and we have a miller radiator unit we dont need..anyone need it?pics of the equipment in question belo......zap!Attachment 3694Attachment 3695Last edited by zapster; 12-27-2007 at 03:35 PM.I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.

Reply:Man, that puppy looks like it came over on the Mayflower- your boss isnt Scottish, by any chance, is he?It says right on the front "Direct Current". But we use HF all the time on DC to initiate an arc, so you dont get crusted tungstens.try these guys for foot pedals- they have em to fit most welders-http://www.ssccontrols.com/homepage-...otcontrols.htm
Reply:Aren't you going to need A/C at some point for at least a portion of your aluminum work? Also, that radiator looks like it might come on handy at some point in your work. You ought to hang onto it. Are you going to be using a water-cooled torch? They are sure nice and so's the A/C. I have a Lincoln Idelarc 250/250 TIG/Stick with A/C and DC+/- and HF, either continuous or start only. It's got a stainless home-brewed 5 gallon water tank that I run part water and part Dex-Cool antifreeze in for the water-cooled torch. It also has a foot pedal. It's getting to be an antique but it sure does a nice job on clean aluminum. I bought the rig from a friend who got into CNC machining and no longer welds very much.Sure hope you can get a good rig running.
