Im getting ready to buy my first welder and i think have it narrowed down to 4 miller syncrowave 200 lincoln precision tig 225 or if i went with a mig rig millermatic 251 or lincoln power mig 255 I plan on doing some aluminum welding in the future but for now will just be practicing on ss and mild steel. Any input would be welcome because im am having a really hard time making up my mind.. I wish i could get a larger rig due to the fact that i plan on doing alu later but $$ constaints have ruled out that option.
Reply:stay with a tig..get the one with the most balls does ac/dc/dc pos..water cooled torch and a footpedaland your good to go.....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:For my money it would be between a Thermal Arc TA-185 and a Lincoln PT-225. The Lincoln is new so it was a No Brainer on my TA purchase. If you need the extra amps the Lincoln is the way to go, otherwise the TA. That's my opinion.DennisThermal Arc 185-TSWMillermatic Challenger 172VictorO/AAtlas Craftsman 12 by 24 LatheEsab PCM-875Wholesalem Tool Mill-Drill
