I have a millermatic 130 and was told that in order to weld stainless using tri-mix, I had to reverse polarity, in this case dcen to dcep. I did and things went okay until I switched back to dcen and flux core wire. At that point, the machine barely arced in the 1 and 2 positions. Is the machine screwed?
Reply:is that wire supposed to be run dcen or dcep.i thought most (if not all) fuxcore was to be run dcep.i may very well be wrong here, but first things first.
Reply:my machine manual says dcen for flux core and dcep for solid or aluminum
Reply:Does it weld at all in dcen setup?  You mentioned positions 1 and 2, what about the other positions?  How does it weld?
Reply:Yes, in the 3, 4 settings. Pretty hot arc for the 16 g steel I am using
