my daddys combine is down and got to get back to running, the cutter bar is broke and i was wondering if the trusty 7018 would be suffecient. the cutter bar is all the time bouncing and flexing. it is only held at the two ends (a 20' span) if not the 7018 then what?-
Reply:7018 is just fine..go for it ...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:I'd use a new unopened package to minimize putting hydrogen into the weld, making it brittle. 7018 sucks moisture from the air and has a short shelf life for critical welds.
Reply:IIRC the cutter bars I have dealt with were spring steel, or tempered in some way so welding is not really a viable option.
Reply:Which part is broke and what was the original method to attach it? |
