I intend having a go at making this basket to put a few plants in -- it will be bolted to a wallNot sure of the dimensions yet but those 5 circles will each be 3 inches diameterThe only part that I can't work out is how to make those 2 metal bands -- 3 inches by 3 mm thickThey need to be wider at the bottom than at the topI will stencil mosaics onto some of the large ringsAny ideas much appreciatedcog
Reply:oooo now i get it...3 mm..almost 1/8"you need them in the shape of a "bell" on a cymbal (drums)what is the overall diameter?these can be made out of tubing thats about the same diameter that you need..with the proper wall thickness in short order.......zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:ZapThat was quick!Overall diameter, perhaps 18 inches -- not criticalIt could be oval shape -- 3mm or any thickness that can be workedYes, bell shape in sectionsPart of a tube you say, sounds interestingThat small 1 inch band at the bottom could cover up any uneven sawingMidnight here in Lancashire bed for cog
Reply:Simple layout the pattern using radial lines, bottom dia. 3 inch space thentop dia. cutout and roll. Any sheetmetal shop should be able to make these in a .jiffy
Reply:Yeah, lay it out like you are making a cone. Your pattern should look like a rainbow, when you roll it it will be conical. If you do a yahoo or google search for a program called "Cone Layout" all you have to do is punch in your dimensions and it will print out the pattern for you. It's a free program, I think I have version 2.0.3. |
