I'm looking at the millermatic 135. I plan on using it to build my truck. Things it will need to do it weld steel strong enough to be used as a cage and suspension parts. Basically stuff that if the weld is not strong enough can cause alot of damage or worse. Obviously I won't try to start fabbing up my truck from the day I get the welder, but I need something to learn off of that will still be able to do what I need it to later on. Is this machine good enough for what I want?
Reply:You will be able to weld up your truck projects with the 135, no problem.  Obviously, practice will make the difference. Shock towers, bumpers, etc. no problem.
Reply:You may want to jump up to a 230V welder like the miller 175, or 210. This way you have extra juice when needed and welding suspension/frame. The price difference would be around a little over $125 between the 136 and 175....I bought the lincoln 135 and wish i stepped up...Just my .02
Reply:This is a stretch, but if you are in the chicagoland area I have a used one I'm selling. Nice little machine, but not as versatile as my new TIG box - John
