Reply:How about the Boilermakers? Great trade that teaches you a whole yitload through their apprentice program. Tube welding, structural steel assembly & welding, tank assembly & welding... the list goes on... I think this is the link...www.boilermakers.org I think at the top of the page there's another link for Apprentice's. Check it out. It's the best part time job I've ever had for the last 22 years with a great benefits package!Sounds like you have some qualifications that will definitley go a long way to becoming a journeyman.Good luck whatever you decide to do...Last edited by mlmonte; 11-07-2006 at 08:41 PM.Tennessee Squire Association
Reply:As a boilermaker graduate apprentice I can ABSOLUTELY recommend this CRAFT!!!!!! You are young enough and since you already have some welding experience thats a plus. Just so you know however a great deal of travel can be expected as well as working in very tight conditions, think of crawling thru a manhole the size of a steering wheel, heights, cold, heat...... But big paychecks and generally the summers off. Ahh 6 months of work and 6 months of unemployment...... gotta love that. |
