If you grind off a piece of metal that has been mig welded to another piece of metal, lets say a solid steel rod that had been butt welded to a piece of steel plate, can you now re-weld another rod in the exact same place as the orignal rod?Basically I want to grind off an already welded together rod and plate.  I need to re-weld a slightly thicker diamater solid rod in the exact same place as the smaller one i ground off.........or is it that once metal has been welded, does the integrity and or original properties of the metal change after the initial first weld? Thanks
Reply:just remove what you want..make the weld area "nice and clean" then go for it!..zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
