TB 302 ali weld

my tb 302 won't even strike an arc in ac mode on ali. i move the selector over to tig lift arc, and nothing. the book says to run it on DCEN when welding in lift arc, but ali should be done with ac (right). if anyone in the charleston, sc area has a tig welder, please let me know, i need this piece welded up most ricky ticky."Retreat hell, were just fighting in the other direction"Miller Trailblazer 302, Extreme 12 VS, Dimension 400, Spectrum 375, HF 251D-1, Milermatic 251 w/ spoolgun  Hypertherm 1000Lincoln sp 1702000 F-450 to haul it
Reply:i have no clue why the machine is'nt working.. but if you lived closer..i'd weld it for ya for free!if worst comes to worst.......zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:I assume you mean the Trailblazer correct? Are you using an external HF box (HF-251)? Make sure the panel/remote switches for the contactor is in the right position_________________Chris
Reply:I was just looking at the manual for your machine online and I didn't see where it says you can do any type of A/C TIG without a remote on/off controller. It does state that the TIG lift-arc mode is to be used for DCEN welding when there is no HF unit available so I'm not sure if it is possible, I have never tried to do this with mine because I have the HF251 but now I'd like to know if it can be done._________________Chris

Reply:I'm thinking it will need the HF-251 box for AC..Could be wrong. Have you called Miller and asked one of the engine drive guys if it is even possible? That would be a good thing if you haven't already. They helped me diagnose a problem with mine.
Reply:called today and checked the price on the HF with a foot pedal $1000,  miller spoolmatic 30 $1600.....
