I'm getting ready to buy some wire for my Esab MM260 a 40# roll. Should I go local for this? My local supplier is AirGas. Is there a good online supplier you might recommend? Thanks
Reply:How does cost + shipping compare to local price + tax. What is the price of multiple rolls ordered. Make sure you are comparing like size rolls. I can only get 33lbs rolls locally.I usually buy my wire locally. Usually have a backup roll, too.
Reply:I will suggest you check as many dealers as you can. The airgas store in my town wants way too much for wire, in my opinion. we have 3 WELDING suppliers in my town . ( Napa, calif. )it has about 55,000 population. There are more places that also sell welding rod, wire , etc, BUT ! they charge MORE . shop around , before you buy. If you're welding for hire, make sure the welding supply store knows this , they might give business discounts , you have to ask, - speakup .[SIZE="5"Yardbird"
Reply:The only problem Ive had with ordering online is if your ordering consumables and 1 happens to be on backorder. The whole order gets held until its complete. Allways call the company (internet wont show you if its b/o'd or not) and the sales rep. will tell you if everything is in stock or not.All and all, Im satisfied. Our local shops usually just carry 10# spools and are limited to lincoln and harris supplies.Various GrindersVictor Journeyman torch200cf Acet. 250cf oxygenLincoln 175 plus/alpha2 gunLincoln v205t tigLincoln 350mpEsab 650 plasmaWhen you can get up in the morning, Its a good day.Live each day like its your last.
Reply:Don't forget that Airgas will probably charge you a Hazardous Material Fee, even for solid wire. They did it to me.PatrickLincoln 175HD
