MIller 250 or lincoln 255?

Hello all, Looking forward to soaking up the great info. I have found myself setting up a small fab shop at home for the local hot rodders. Iv been looking for a good mig and ran across 2 deals one being a 1 year old Lincoln 255 ($1000) and the other a never used miller 250 ($1200) at this point Im leaning towards the 250 but not totally sure. If you guys have any pro or cons please let me know. Bob
Reply:Between those two, I'd go with the Lincoln.  The MM250 had its issues and was soon replaced with the MM251.  And I'm a Millerman.  My next question is why is a machine that old in a "never used" condition?
Reply:I have a 255 Lincoln, and Love it.  Has been a very dependable machine.I'm a Lover, Fighter, Wild horse Rider, and a pretty good welding man......
Reply:MAC702, Iv been looking around and found out it was a older modle as well but this one is new as could be. I picked up the 255 after reading a few post dealing with 250 problems besides it matches my 255 square wave tig.Hammack,Iv only used one Lincoln 255 mig and it was last year under heavy welding it would slow the wire feed to a dead stop and would not feed again till the trigger was released. I was the only one that ever used it but no one else cared if it was messed up so it never got fixed.. Im sure Ill be happy with the 255. TY  Bob
Reply:Splittin' frog hairs four ways, but, the Lincoln. Had it been the 251, I would flip a coin! I look for voltage and wire speed knobs that are adjustable on the run. Not rotary switches.
