Anybody bought a cylinder off eBay?

I looked to see if this question has come up yet, but didn't see it.The price is excellent compared to Tractor Supply Company, Northern, LWS, etc.Anyone have any experience with these?  $139 (shipping included) is a steal!  The feedback from buyers ain't bad either...http://cgi.ebay.com/80-CF-WELDING-CY...QQcmdZViewItem--Mike

Reply:IOC is good to go, I would'nt be concerned about the company (seller). Just do your homework on the product like you would with anything else. IOC has gotten about 3G of mine in the last couple of years, a satisfied customer here.Make sure you're LWS won't give you a hard time about "non-leased" bottles. If you've got several in your area there is no problem. If your choices are limited they sometimes try to force you into a lease. With a little bottle like an 80 you'll be seeing them a lot.
Reply:I got my 80 at my LWS (J.F. Martin in Philly) for $99 (this was a while ago but I think their prices haven't gone up much).Around here, many places won't swap a bottle that comes from another supplier -- they send it out to be filled and you get to wait.Martin will swap a bottle from elsewhere, but other places won't.Call around for prices and swap policies before you get an ebay bottle.Good luck with it.Favorite right now is a Miller Syncro 200.Tons of tools and I blame at least one of them when things don't go right.

Reply:I bought 20 of those from that company (via Ebay) and am very pleased with the purchase.     I paid 130 each including freight.    They arrived in 2 days, less than half the quoted lead time.The only hitch, not related to Indiana Oxygen, is that the 'dim bulbs' at the LWS tend to snicker at my nicely painted, spiffy green cylinders.There are no small projects

Reply:Great comments, everyone.  By looking at IOC's feedback on eBay I was fairly certain they would be a reputable company to transact with....just reasuring to get first-hand experience commentary.  I'll call around to a few more locals before throwing down with IOC, but initial calls indicate that IOC will be the best, most cost-effective option.  Again, thanks guys.--Mike
Reply:I recently bought a used 40CF from brweldingsupplies on Ebay. It was $85 shipped. My local gas supplier wanted $140 for a new tank. When I brought him the used tank, he swapped it for a full one, no questions asked.Lee TiltonSCCA F500 Pilot
Reply:Jeeez!  My LWS wants $300 deposit for an 80 and then another $45 for the contents.... WT He**!They won't fill any bottle unless it is stamped with their company name on the neck.

Reply:This is another good case for having your location listed in your profile.  It makes it far more interesting to read cases like that when we know where they are happening.Not to mention someone nearby would be able to help that much more easily (on this or any other issue)
