Reply:A license with the state is a contractors license, through the state, required to do business within the state for hire and/or as a contractor or shop or owner-operator. It may or may not have a lot to do with your qualifications in that particular trade. Check with your appropriate state contractors licensing board. You'll find that there may be anywhere from 50 to 250 different categories you could choose from. These tests generally encompass about four different areas of general knowledge; business/accounting, safety, legal, and of course the trade category itself. Step number two of going into business.
Reply:No liscence in my state, wish there was. Any $hit bum with a truck and a machine can call them selfs a weldor.Disclaimer; "I am just an a$$hole welder, don't take it personally ."

Reply:Of all the things I need "permision" for in this state, welding isn't one of them. If I install my own hot water heater and it blows up, I am screwed. If someone welds on a pintle plate and the welds break, no big deal. I am not going to go on a rant right now, but I could.Disclaimer; "I am just an a$$hole welder, don't take it personally ." |
