I have been practicing stick welding on some mild steel. I am generally using a 3/32 electrode (6013 or 6011; can't remember at the moment) with 90AC amps. I can strike an arc and lay down a decent bead, however at the end I almost always get a concave finish. It appears that I am not getting the crater to fill in. I tried pausing at the end, but have had very limited success. Any tips??Thanks in advance.Sharky
Reply:When you come to the end..Go in small circles as you lift the rod.........zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:Yep, just do a twist with the rod like you were going to go back into the weld from the other direction...circle, curly q...whatever you want to call it...lolAnything worth doing is worth doing RIGHT
Reply:What they said or pause and keep a short arc, then break the arc.DavidReal world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:I needed some input on that also. Helped me out too. |
