Hello,Sears, once distributed and sold, some very excellent welding rods. I am hoping you can tell me :Who, made these welding rods that I am about to mention, and.... what equivalent rod and manufacturer could I get the very same rod or a very similar welding rod from today?The welding rods I speak of are:Craftsman, contact type, mild steel, Cat No# 9-20296 1/8 E-6024Craftsman, Machinable cast Iron rod, Cat. No# 9-2027 3/32 E# ???-unknown. But Characteristics of the rod are: recommended for high tensile machinable welds on gray and alloy Cast Iron, without preheating. Operates with AC or DC Tensile strength of over 60,000 pounds. Hardness is only 140-180 BrinellAmp rating 45-85Craftsman, Non- Machinable Cast Iron Rod, Cat. No#99-20555 Size is 1/8 and 3/32E# is unknown.Characteristics of the rod are: Used for inexpensive, high strength welds on cast iron where machine ability is not required. Used to weld all types of cast iron , or cast iron to steel without cracking or other difficultly. Can be used on clean or dirty iron The coating makes possible the welding of cast iron (cold) ...room temperature....thus eliminating preheating. Recommended for building up and repairing new castings. Use with either AC or DC current. Amp recommended :3/32 = 45-85 1/8 = 75-130Craftsman, Hard Surfacing Rod, Cat. No# 99-20041 E# unknown... but recommended for applying hard surface that is wear resistant surface to steel or iron parts exposed to wear, abrasion, or Impact. Use with AC or DC Current.Size 3/32 and 1/8Craftsman, cutting rod, Cat. No# 9-20282 E# unknown. size: 1/8 For cutting all metals including copper, stainless, and manganese steel and alloys. for piercing, gouging, cutting, and scarfing. Needs no oxygen, or special equipment to cut.
