I know you might say this should be in the equipment section but It is more of a knowledge and expierence question. I am having trouble getting an age or anyinformation on my welder. It is a P&H AC Arc welder, model number TWI-200.It was built by the HARNISCHFEGER corp out of Milwaukee WI. I just want to know how old it is and maybe a place wher I can buy a new faceplateand switch. It welds great still and I use it as a shop welder all the time. My Dad gave it to meyears ago and allhe could tellme was that it was old school. Any help would be appreciated and I can email a picture if you might need it. Thanks for reading.
Reply:I don't think you will have much luck finding anything for P&H,1950 or 60 built and only a few have been able to purchase these machines, save your $'s.  JohnSMAW,GMAW,FCAW,GTAW,SAW,PAC/PAW/OFCand Shielding Gases.  There all here. :
Reply:i don't know if the company keeps records dating back as far as that welder, or if the comapny is even still around, but if they are, it may be an option to call them up and tell them the serial number (if it has one). i don't know about welders, but as far as cars go, you can read a company a VIN and they can tell you anything you want to know about that vehicle. maybe it's the same for welders?sorry i couldn't be more help.Later,Andy

Reply:I thought P&H made cranes?  http://www.phmining.com/overview/history.htmlSeems one of the principals was HARNISCHFEGER!Last edited by 69 chevy; 10-19-2007 at 08:16 PM.WeldingWeb forum--now more sophomoric banter than anything else!
