Is there much variation in the size of an 80 cube 75/25 cylinder? (from Indiana oxygen to be more specific). The reason I ask is that I built my welding cart cylinder holding area to be just tall enough to come just below the shoulder of the smaller of my two tanks, the 80. I exchanged them this morning and when I went to put them back in the cart the small one is setting about 2 inches lower in the cart. It is possible, even likely, that I didn't measure right and made it too tall and the first one wasn't setting down all the way, and this one is slightly smaller diameter and this lets it go down farther, ...but I don't think so.It is not going to be a problem to fix but I didn't think I needed to plan for that much variation.Anyone notice a two inch variation in the cylinder height?
Reply:Ok I found a picture of the original cylinder in the cart. The one I got today only sits about an inch lower maybe but that's enough to cause it not to fit right.
Reply:Not uncommon for there to be several inches difference in the heights. I have several 125's in the shop now and there is a three inch range they are all in. I just measured that yesterday..matter of fact.
Reply:Some tanks are aluminum too. They are a different size than the steel.DavidReal world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:Great, thanks.I did not think there would be that much variation. Now I know I am not crazy |
