Reply:Here are some pics.I am self taught, semi-pro... I'm getting paid ,but this is not my regular gig. Apparently some of the work that I've done for winter maintenance was good enough to nominate me for this, and I'd really appreciate any input. I've got to cut out, and replace all of the flights. Reply:FCAW-SS would be the most productive process to use, also it results in a more ductile weld metal

Reply:daddy, gouge out the old flights and weld with a 7018. it'll be fine. we replace ours the last time with a flight holder that has a flight that will bolt in place. ofcourse it required a magnet be installed on the conveyor leaving the drum. but it allows the changing or replacing flights in alot less time. nothing overly special with this bad boy, the first time it fires up it the fire will cook the entire drum."Retreat hell, were just fighting in the other direction"Miller Trailblazer 302, Extreme 12 VS, Dimension 400, Spectrum 375, HF 251D-1, Milermatic 251 w/ spoolgun Hypertherm 1000Lincoln sp 1702000 F-450 to haul it
Reply:gonna start on it this week. probably will try to get it installed first so i can rotate it to keep position. lobbying for plasma, but shop guys say bad outside. obviosly i would keep it in the drum and out of the weather. is there a better machine for outside/ portable use ? plant may buy one. otherwise torch my butt off. I'm gonna try to get a spec from the maker , but it seems like just alot of work, and not too technical or critical, The tooth holders that i regularly weld onto the 600+ Hp road mill that i run daily probably see more abuse, and they arent falling off. may try to get wire feed for production's sake, and dont have to worry about keeping rods dry. Thanks for the replies so far guys. Much appreciated!!! |
