PRo Mig 180 220 unit. I have a Hobart Stickmate 205. Just getting into this and aquiring things I will need. My big queston was considering my setup would it make a difference to trade the Clarke Mig 95 runs off 110 and box saids 100 amps max and it welds to 3/16. Should I trade it in for the Clarke 130en I bought the Clarke Mig95 as you know from previous post. I also have a Lincoln model which also runs on 110.  Since their both running off 110, is there a great difference between the two that I should spring and spend 90 more dollars to get it or just stay with the Clarke MIg 95? ThankWhitey
Reply:I have a Lincoln mig that I bought at Home Depot half a dozen years ago.  It's the little one.  I love it and I have used it many many hours, except........It just don't have the power sometimes.  I've found that anything in the 3/16" range tends to carry too much heat away if the piece is large and the little machine just can't burn hot enough.   It's my understanding that the 220v machine has one step higher heat/amperage range.   It doesn't really matter which one you get.   Eventually you'll want more power.  If you get one that can do 1/2" steel, soon you'll wish it could do 3/4".   Spend a few extra bucks and get the heavier one.  It'll delay your wanting a bigger one a little while longer.   This is of course assuming you have a 220 outlet or can wire one up.I wish I had waited and got the bigger one myself.
Reply:Just stay with the 95, not worth $,s to get the 130.  JohnSMAW,GMAW,FCAW,GTAW,SAW,PAC/PAW/OFCand Shielding Gases.  There all here. :
