Accessories to add to your welding tableI did a search and read almost all of the three pages of threads about welding tables. I built my welding table a few months ago (Man, how did I weld without it!) I plan to add a few things to make things easier such as a holder for the mig gun, an electrical outlet to plug various things into, trailer hitch for vice and bench grinder, tab to hook the ground to, bracket for the angle grinder, a shelf made of expanded metal to store a few things on. What are some other things to add? I plan on adding a few of the above as need arises.Just looking for ideas and pictures.Reber
Reply:Before putting anything more on the table I'd make sure you have places to to keep stuff off the damn table !My benches seem to be tool magnets, very quickly your welding in on very little corner of it.A good guess is better than a bad measurement
Reply:I have a few things on the table that help with fabricating. I have a large valve guide (at least I think that's what it is) welded to the side of the table, if I need to bend a piece of 1/4" rod, I can put it in there and hand bend it without using the vice. I also have 4",6", & 10" long 1/4" rod welded at both ends to the edge of the table, raised about 1/8" off the table, for making smooth bends in small pieces of flat/sheet steel. I also made a bracket for the 4 1/2" grinder that holds it steady so I can use it like a bench grinder.PatrickLincoln 175HD
Reply:Yes I agree brett. I should have been more clear I want all the crap off of the table. I HATE JUNK IN MY WORK AREA (even if it is tools I will use).reber
Reply:I welded a piece of 2 1/2" angle iron to the edge of one side of the table top edge to hold soap stone, needle nose pliers, wire cutters, metal scribe ect.I also used some weldable D-Rings. Welded to the underside of the top, for mig gun holders. I did them on each corner. They also work well for a place to hang your vice grip clamps. Also made a nice expanded metal shelve for a place to throw scrap pieces.
