it wasn't the best. I still need to ask some fellow workers about wire feed and voltage. I am lucky I got an arc struck.. The beads look like water drops ..Oh well..
Reply:Post up a picture, we'll help you out. That's how you get started, you gotta' at least try it. Kudos for making the attempt...keep it up!John -  fabricator extraordinaire, car nut!-  bleeding Miller blue! http://www.weldfabzone.com
Reply:Hey...keep going.  It took my son a whole day before he stopped jumping when he struck an arc...In fact, he still jumps the first time or two...and like Micro says, post 'em pi'chers.Smithboy...if it ain't broke, you ain't tryin'.
Reply:Tell us what you are running and we can help.  Gas?  Flux core? Machine....Wire size, gas...DavidReal world weldin.  When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:You will need to take some better pic's then you posted on the welder for us to help.  Thats cool the you got the DVI2 running. Lots of help here and good people to do it. since we both just got the same welder, post here or PM me anytime and I will answer what works for me or I can see how mine works at the settings you are using. Like I posted in the other thread, make sure you set the tensioner on the roller to 1.5-2.0 to start. Have fun and keep practicing.Miller DVI2Lincoln Precision Tig 225Thermodynamics Cutmaster 38Everything else needed.
Reply:First day pictures
Reply:second day photos with a little more heat and circles..
Reply:more second day
Reply:Hard to tell from those pictures but it looks like you are getting it down. The welder you have works even better on a 220v input power. If you get good on 110v you will have it made on 220v.Keep up the good work.Miller DVI2Lincoln Precision Tig 225Thermodynamics Cutmaster 38Everything else needed.
Reply:it sucks.. my machine does NOT run like this anymore..
Reply:What is it doing or not doing?   We need more info than, 'it sucks' to help...Did you change any adjustments on the machine?   Burn a tip?  Clog the nozzle?  Tangle the wire on the spool?  It's probly something really simple. As to the pics, looks like the first few welds were cold, and too fast.  May have been a shelding gas issue in one of the middle pics, hard to tell with the blur.  By the end though, looks like you made some improvements.   Keep practicing.  MM350P/Python/Q300MM175/Q300DialarcHFHTP MIG200PowCon300SMHypertherm380ThermalArc185Purox oaF350CrewCab4x4LoadNGo utilitybedBobcat250XMT304/Optima/SpoolmaticSuitcase12RC/Q300Suitcase8RC/Q400Passport/Q300Smith op
