Starting to get vert. up w/ stick!

Nothing to write home about but I am starting to get the principle and technique down now. Only like 3rd time attempting it. Used 7018AC, Lincoln AC225. Weaved back and forth, holding for a 2 count on each side and going right across center. Reply:You are getting it, never used 7018 AC.How thick is the plate?  rod size?  Amps?DavidReal world weldin.  When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:It is about 3/16" maybe t joint, 1/8" rod, can't remember the amps. Like 105 or 120.
Reply:Not bad, some people never get that good. Before long you'll be whipping out vert up like it was nothing. Actually it's not that hard just slower progress.

Reply:David as a kid my dad only had an AC machine and he got 6011's and 7018's for $15 or $20 for #50 so guess what we used. The slag is a pain on ac but it seems so make a sound weld just some extra spatter like a 6010. I bought him a 220 amp dc machine but he still welds with the ac all the time.
