Metallic aftertaste?

Pardon me if this has been covered in another topic, but has anyone else experienced what I've come to call "welder's mouth"? I recently started a new job in a fab shob, and seems like I now constantly have a slight metallic aftertaste in my mouth. About the only time it is not noticeable is immediately after I brush my teeth; other than that, it is there ALL the time, and has started affecting how everything tastes, i.e. coffee (at home AND at the shop), meals, etc.Is this something particular to just me, or has anyone else ever experienced this? If so, is there any way to correct it?
Reply:Blow your nose.  The only shops I get this taste/smell in my system are those with poor ventilation.. which is pretty much everywhere.  I keep a roll of toilet paper next to my tool box, anytime I go over to grab something or teak a break, I blow all the black stuff out of my nose, and go back to work.
Reply:I've had the metallic taste when being shocked a few times.And then, after so much work...... you have it in your hand, and you look over to your side...... and the runner has run off. Leaving you holding the prize, wondering when the runner will return.
Reply:Get a dust mask like you would use for sanding wood. I get that a lot when putting a grinder to heavy use indoors.The difference between art and craft is the quality of the workmanship. I am an artist.

Reply:You might be attributing it to the work environment, but it could be coming from somewhere else.  I had a cap on a tooth that started to come unglued and for weeks I could taste the metalic tasting cement.  Mouth infections like can also give you the taste of metal.  Just something else to consider.Smithboy...if it ain't broke, you ain't tryin'.
