Reply:Sorry, kinda blurry pics.I get black spots when I touch the tungsten to the puddle.DavidReal world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:The cleaner the better..No touching the tungesting to anything..If you do stop right away and re-grind..The filler is getting contaminated from the tungestion the same time you contaminate the tungestion with the filler..Thats why its black and uncooperative.....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:Im starting to understand. How much distance do you normally keep electrode from metal?lincoln sp100miller syncrOwave 200 matobo grinders6 different torches for display Learning the trade

Reply:Thanks that makes to much sense. When adding filler do you let filler get sucked in like soldering or push in and pull electrode back?lincoln sp100miller syncrOwave 200 matobo grinders6 different torches for display Learning the trade
Reply:I add the filler to the front of the puddle. It will suck in as you go. If you can do that, you have the heat right and travel speed is good.DavidReal world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:Got it. Ill practice tomorrow. Sould I use my foot pedal. I have a thumb dial (dont use one of these) or a on off switch? I have been practicing with the foot pedal.lincoln sp100miller syncrOwave 200 matobo grinders6 different torches for display Learning the trade
Reply:Foot pedal is easiest if you are just starting out. Torch angle is critical and difficult to master without too much concentration, so leave your foot the job to control the current so your hand can concentrate on torch angles.Make sure you don't have too much attack angle on the torch - this will cause the arc to want to direct to the filler instead of the work. Keep the torch about 15 degrees from vertical, leaning toward the direction of travel (push) until you get the hang of it. Stand it up when you get near an edge.ScottHaul a bike without straps - visit www.mxtras.com to see how! |
