I acquired a rediarc welder and was told that the winding (made in Italy) is fried. The honda engine still does not miss a beat but as far as sparking an arc, not going to happen. Anyone know where these windings can be obtained? I'm told by the local repair depot they have no access to these windings.any assistance would be greatly appreciated.Guy_48Welding is an art......Millermatic 252Lincoln SP175PlusLincoln 225 AC/DC

Reply:Maybe I'm wrong, but I would think most any "Good" motor shop would rewind it. Now whether it is worth the cost of that is another question. Where are you located? I know a place that could rewind it, but not sure if it would be practical distance wise.I'm a Lover, Fighter, Wild horse Rider, and a pretty good welding man......
Reply:What model reddarc? One of their techs told me that all of their reddarc branded welding machines are built by Lincoln or Miller. I don't know if knowing that will help you, but you can use their model number at either Lincoln or Millers websites to get the manuals. If you ID who built it for them you might be able to get the specs from the manufacturer. The difference between art and craft is the quality of the workmanship. I am an artist.

Reply:Well as I was thinking you are to far away to be practical, but I would bet that Higgins electric in Dothan, Alabama could rewind it. As i said it would probably cost more than the machine would be worth to completely rewind it. I would suggest saving your money, and look for a machine that's ready to weld.I'm a Lover, Fighter, Wild horse Rider, and a pretty good welding man......
Reply:I've been in a bunch of motors and generators and have yet to see a "weird" winding.I've seen some that are non-standard or different than normal, but not weird. I think look for another rewinder. He seems weird. |
