I saw a reference on Horsepower TV to a product that keeps metal from oxidizing after cleaning. They claimed you could weld or paint after that. Has anybody worked with this product? Also, the rust proofing on metal is often time consuming to remove before painting. Any recommendations? I am tempted to pressure wash it off if it wouldn't rust. Thanks,Jim
Reply:There's a bunch of options, but the one I use the most is Bloxide. Looks like 'silver' (aluminum flake) paint with a real fine flake and low binder content. Weld through (even TIG passes chemical analysis and Xray) paint over, whatever.
