I have a buddy that wants to get rid of a Clarke 130EN MK2 model mig welder. He want 50 bucks for the unit, he used it once, and has been very sick and needs the money. It looks brand new, no helmet I can get that later, but my question is I know this is a light duty unit but I cannot seem to find anything on this model. I need to know if anybody can tell me what the MK2 means. It turns on and I am thinking about getting it to my buddy out but it would be nice to find out what the MK2 means, basically everything I read on the 130EN MIG it's the same.I have experience with torch brazing and arc but MIG is something I am wanting to get into. Light duty hobby level stuff I mean.Thank You for your help!Bob

Reply:My take on this situation is that you have a sick friend who's in need of help. For $50, who cares what kind of machine it is. Just buy the darn thing because it is the right thing to do.If it does turn out to be something of use to you... great. If not, then be a real friend and tuck it away in the corner of your garage until your buddy is back on his feet. Then, return it to him as a gift.
Reply:Go for it!DavidReal world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.

Reply:Ya did the right thing. Even if all it's good for is a trotline weight. The difference between art and craft is the quality of the workmanship. I am an artist.
Reply:You did the right thing, and now you've found this place, read read and more reading, then play with that lil machine, you'll like it, just remember it's limitations and you'll enjoy it. Welcome to the forum.
Reply:Nothing like giving from the heart. You did the right thing even if you never use the machine. Some folks had rather sell something like that that take a hand out. Even if it is a gift. The three most important things that go with being a Mason is Brotherly love, Morality and Giving. We need more people in this world willing to help out a freind. |
