I need to do an exhaust on my truck. Not real sure what process to use to weld it up with. I could use my father in laws mig, or I have an arc and oxy setup.Victor OXY setupMiller Thunderbolt XL AC/DCLooking for a Miller Mig
Reply:Go with the mig..Less fuss..Less muss.....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:Since I've used it for many years, I'm most comfortable with my O/A. With a #3 on my Harris, I have complete control; no holes, no drip-thru, no surprises. Fit-up is less critical, with a flick of my wrist, I can control an over heat situation and bridge a gap. But, I've since taken an auto-body MIG class. With .023 wire and gas, it might be easier. bzzt....bzzt...bzzt... Some 220v MIGs aren't happy with .023 (older hot start Miller Matics for instance).Last choice: arc.IMHO, YMMV, hobby weldor 9-11-2001......We Will Never ForgetRetired desk jockey.
