The plant I work at is going to shut down for some time in July.  It will likely be from 1-4 weeks.  During that time, I'd like to keep some money coming in, and am considering traveling somewhere for some work.  I will NOT hire in a place and lead them to believe I plan to stay.  If it's a permanent position, perhaps they would be interested in consulting work, welding instruction, or welding inspection.I can weld pipe, plate, thin, thick...you name it.  I'm also a CWI with a BS in Business Organizational Management.A shutdown would be nice to make some quick cash, but I'm open to anything that pays enough to make it worth the travel.  Let me know if you know of any good jobs.
Reply:Collect unemployment and Chill Out for the duration..Gas prices and the whole thing..Probably better off just kik'in back for a few..But I know what you mean..I go nuts with nothing to do.....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:I hear that the Mohave Generating Station in Laughlin, NV. Is getting ready to be de-comissioned and they may be needing some help. The same person also said that they may be needing guys with their own rigs.......dunno how true it is though......Kenny BTW it is owned by Cal Edison....Yeah, yeah, I know you are a weldor too. But, are you a good one?
Reply:Maybe it was foresight..but I got laid off today.  Eleven people got the ax.  That's about 15% of the workforce...and the rest will continue to see part time hours and will have a plant closing for at least a week in July.  The marine industry is falling badly.Nonetheless...I have a few leads for work here in the area, but if things get tough, I may try and travel to a few short term shutdowns. If anybody has info, contacts, etc, please post them up or PM them to me.  Thanks!!
