I have a Lincoln 180t & what i would like to know is there any difference in the Lincoln cooper coated wire versus the Hobart carbon wire.will i get just as good a weld with the Hobart wire.       thanks for your advice

Reply:There should be no difference.  most solid mig wires are grouped into Classes.  (ER 70s-6) etc....  That is what tells you what type of wire it is.  Most times each manufacturer has there own name for their wire, but it still fits into the classification.I'm a Lover, Fighter, Wild horse Rider, and a pretty good welding man......

Reply:In reference to the posting i did on the copper coated wire i was completely wrong on the product.my mistake for not reading & looking at product more closely.I was way off base.  Thanks for not critizing to much------ still learning
Reply:Generally all mig (solid) wire is copper coated (it's a copper alloy with other stuff in it to protect against rust and it has added 'scavengers' in it which help bring contaniments to the surface).  Basically if it looks gold is MIG (solid) and if it looks silver it's flux-core."A winner isn't someone who doesn't lose, a winner is someone who doesn't quit."
